Massage Services

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is the base for most other massage techniques. It consists of many long strokes called effleurage and kneading stokes called petrissage.

The main purposes of Swedish massage are:

  • Facilitate relaxation and a sense of well-being
  • Increase circulation of the blood and lymphatic tissues
  • Decrease stress

All modalities that we use at Revitalize incorporate at least some Swedish Massage.

Couples Massage

A very popular option at Revitalize that is not offered everywhere is a couples massage. Whether it is a husband and wife, girlfriend and boyfriend, same-sex partners, moms and daughters, or best friends — a couples massage in our warm, inviting dual massage room is a great way to share a very relaxing experience.

Most massage modalities that we offer can be done in the couples massage setting without paying a premium price. Absolutely perfect for romantic holidays, anniversaries, birthdays, or those rare times you are able to get away from the kids for just a couple hours!

Deep Tissue Massage

People are often scared by the name — It should really be called ‘specific or focused massage.’

The goal of Deep Tissue Massage is to find knots, tension, and scar tissue. Once found, specific techniques like Cross Fiber Friction are used to break up scar tissue while sustained, and controlled pressure is applied using the pisiform, thumbs, or elbows to trigger the nervous system to release contracted muscle fibers.

It can hurt a little bit, but it’s what we describe as ‘good pain’ – We want you to feel like, “It hurts, but don’t stop!”

Trigger Point Therapy

The philosophy of Trigger Point Therapy is that tension in one part of the body refers pain to other parts. This also works the opposite way – the tension in one area can be relieved by controlled pressure in other areas.

Hot Stone Massage

When the stones are used as extensions of the hands, they can help the therapist get deeper pressure. The heat of the stones resting on the body facilitate muscles to relax and soften, allowing for quicker access to deeper muscle layers.

This also allows the therapist to do more during the massage. While the stones are doing their job melting the muscle tissue, the therapist can be working other body parts. Ultimate multitasking!

Reflexology

Reflexology involves bodywork using the philosophy that points in the feet, hands, or ears connect and affect organs and tissues throughout the body. When looking at the bottom of the feet, the points generally correspond with the head and torso.

Typically done in a 30 minute session or as part of a full body massage.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a type of massage consisting of gentle, sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue. This technique is used to increase circulation, mobility, and to eliminate pain. This method is most beneficial for those who suffer from chronic pain and muscle tightness, headaches/migraines, poor circulation, and blood pooling. *Specific attire required. Please inquire at the time of booking.

Pregnancy Massage

Women’s bodies go through incredible changes and stress while preparing to bring new life into the world. We want to help make your pregnancy as relaxing and comfortable as possible. Our experienced therapists who are certified in pregnancy massage typically use props and specific techniques to ensure optimal comfort and relaxing for both your body and mind.

AromaTouch®

Aromatouch is a light-pressure massage where we use doTERRA™ essential oils, each one specifically selected for its aromatic properties; individually and combined. The oils can be diluted as necessary for those who have more sensitive skin. If you are looking for a massage to relieve you of stress, worries, and tension – you’ve found it.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha is a traditional Chinese therapeutic technique. This type of massage involves an instrument used to scrape the skin. This separates the muscle fibers that are bound in order to make the muscles work more efficiently. This massage technique improves circulation and mobility, increases the immune system function, and works as an anti-inflammatory agent. Gua Sha can also be used to assist in treating a cold, fever, and respiratory function. More often than not, this type of massage will leave marks and light bruising on the skin, so we do not suggest getting this right before an important event.

Reiki

Reiki is a type of energy healing originating in Japan. The practitioner uses their palms to transfer universal energy from themselves to the client as a form of healing. This can be beneficial for anxiety, depression, insomnia, and other physical and emotional ailments.

Cupping

This is an ancient technique originating in China. The cups are used to increase circulation, relieve muscle tension, and promote blood cell repair through suction. It is sometimes believed that cupping also restores balance between the yin and yang within the body.

Lymphatic Drainage

This technique is used to reduce fluid build-up in particular areas of the body and transport it through the lymph vessels. This can reduce swelling, edema, and improve circulation throughout the lymphatic system. Lymphatic drainage should not be painful, so if any discomfort arises, please let your therapist know immediately. Clients with congestive heart failure, emphysema, and skin infections should avoid this technique.
